VIJAYAPURA: All India Majis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Tuesday claimed that the Muslim identity was under threat as the BJP if after their food, beard and skullcap.
“The ‘Sab ka Sath, Sab Ka Vikas’ slogan of the BJP has remained mere words. The BJP is always against Muslims. Ending Muslim identity in a diverse country like India is the core agenda of the BJP government. They are raising the halal-cut issue just to cover up the corruption issue. The BJP is making money and getting commission through the halal-cut issue. I have some videos of BJP leaders taking commission’, he claimed at a press meet held at Vijayapura on Tuesday.
Reacting to BJP MLA Basavana Gouda Patil Yatnal’s remarks, Owaisi said,”We do not even take Pakistan’s name, but Basavana Gouda Patil Yatnal repeatedly takes the name of Pakistan. He has love for that country. I don’t know why that is so. He knows better than me why he loves Pakistan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi might have told him to take Pakistan’s name again and again,”, he remarked.
To a question on the split verdict of the two-judge bench of the Supreme Court on the hijab issue, he said, “I am happy that the verdict came in favour of hijab. It emphasised education. It was a huge verdict for us. I hope that the larger bench will deliver a verdict in favour of hijab.”
