BENGALURU: A wild elephant was electrocuted to death after it came in contact with a live wire near Palatottanapalli village in Denkanikote in neighbouring Tamil Nadu.

The elephant, aged about 35-40 years, along with two others elephants, had entered the village on Thursday night and they were going down an incline when one of the elephants came in contact with a power line passing near the village.

The villagers immediately informed the Forest Department officials who visited the spot and conducted an inspection.
