BENGALURU: An elderly woman was brutally killed by some unidentified miscreants, and her body was cut into six pieces and dumped into a drum, at Nisarga Layout, under the jurisdiction of KR Puram police station.
The deceased has been identified as Susheelamma (70). It is suspected that the incident took place two or three days ago. The locals informed the police after they noticed foul smell coming from her house on Sunday.
Susheelamma lived with her daughter in the house for the last eight years and police suspect that the murder took place over an alleged property dispute. The KR Puram police, FSL team officials rushed to the spot, and investigation is under way.
The miscreants had cut Susheelamma’s body into six pieces and brutally murdered her. While some of the body were found, the arms and legs were missing.
A police dog squad led the police to a house nearby based on scent. Based on that, the KR Puram police have detained a suspect in connection with the murder. The man lives a short distance from the place of the murder. The arrested person is well-known and close to the deceased Susheelamma’s family.
The police are investigating whether she was murdered over a property dispute. The properties in Uttarahalli and Yelahanka, which are in Susheelamma’s name, are worth crores of rupees. Recently, litigation was settled in court related to some properties.
Susheelamma had reportedly told locals and acquaintances that she would get a large amount of money soon. The old woman was allegedly away from her children, though she had crores of property. A son and daughter of the deceased lived separately in Nisarga Layout.
