Eight people suffer injuries in LPG gas cylinder blast

BENGALURU: Eight people were seriously injured after an LPG cylinder exploded at a house at LBS Nagar in Yelahanka early today morning.

Following the incident, the injured Afarwaz, Salma, Shahid, Fasia and Asma were shifted to hospitals. While two have been admitted to the Yelahanka Government Hospital, one of them who sustained 60 per cent burns, was taken to Victoria Hospital and the others to a private hospital.

The inside of the house was completely damaged due to the intensity of the explosion, and the wall and roof collapsed. Four neighbouring houses were also damaged. Due to the intensity of the explosion, the walls, windows, and doors of the house were broken. The electricity meter boxes in the house were also damaged. Police and fire brigade personnel visited the  spot.

Electricity cables were also damaged and Bescom staff immediately disconnected power as soon as they got the information. A total of five houses were damaged in the incident.
