Eight injured in separate LPG cylinder blast cases

TUMAKURU, BELAGAVI: Eight people sustained injuries after LPG cylinders exploded in separate incidents.

Six people were injured when a cylinder exploded in a house belonging to one Ravikumar, next to Siddartha High School in Kunigal town on Saturday. Several household articles were also burnt in the explosion.

The seriously injured are Samina (43) and Kushal (11), while Manjamma (42), Shivanna (45), Shruthi (45) and Hemalatha (16) sustained minor injuries. The Fire and Emergency Services personnel put out the blaze.

In Belagavi, an LPG cylinder exploded around 4 am when one of the occupants of the house switched on a bulb, at Sulga. It is suspected that the cylinder was leaking, leading to the blast.

Kallappa Patil (62) and Suman Patil (60) sustained severe burn injuries and were rushed to a hospital. Several household articles were also destroyed in the explosion.
