‘Ee Sala Cup Namdu’: Fans celebrate RCB’s maiden IPL victory, youth stabbed near Jalahalli Cross

BENGALURU: A fan of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) was stabbed with a knife by miscreants near Jalahalli Cross while celebrating the IPL title victory. The incident occurred around midnight when the fan was heading to a bar to celebrate RCB’s win in the IPL final. Some unidentified miscreants stabbed the fan in the neck area with a knife and escaped.

Fortunately, the fan narrowly escaped serious injury. The attackers fled the scene when he started screaming out for help. Locals helped the fan get admitted to a private hospital. The incident occurred within the Peenya police station limits.

Meanwhile, RCB fans are in for a treat later in the day when the team will be felicitated at Vidhana Soudha and then head to the M Chinnaswamy stadium There will be no victory parade in Bengaluru in view of security concerns. The team bus will start from Vidhana Soudha at 3:30 pm and head to Chinnaswamy Stadium.

RCB has officially announced the victory parade, calling their fans the “12th army” and saying the crown belongs to them.

In another incident, RCB fans gathered at KR Market and celebrated the team’s win by cutting a cake. The fans cut the cake and distributed it among themselves, celebrating RCB’s IPL win.

The team is expected to arrive in Bengaluru at 2 pm today via a special flight from Ahmedabad. The team will be taken from HAL Airport to the Taj Westend in a signal-free traffic corridor. Security has been tightened around HAL Airport, and public access has been restricted.

The Chinnaswamy stadium is gearing up for welcoming RCB team.

 

1. A felicitation programme for RCB will be held at Chinnaswamy Stadium from 5 pm to 6 pm.

2. Entry is restricted to those with tickets or passes only.

3. There will be no victory parade this time.

4. Due to regular parking arrangements at the venue, the public is advised to use Metro and other public transport.

5. Motorists are advised to avoid the CBD (Central Business District) area 3 pm to 8 pm.
