ED seizes Rs 2.25 crore in cash from Aishwarya Gowda’s residence after raid

BENGALURU, MANDYA: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted a raid on the residence of Aishwarya Gowda at Kirugavalu near Srirangapatna, who is facing multiple cheating cases, including one related to gold, two days ago. During the raid, the ED found Rs 2.25 crore in cash.

Aishwarya Gowda had claimed to be the sister of former MP DK Suresh and has been accused of cheating several jewellers. The ED had registered a case against her and and, as part of the investigation, the agency raided 14 locations, including Aishwarya Gowda’s residence, office, and the residence of MLA Vinay Kulkarni.

On Thursday morning, a team of five ED officials arrived in two cars at Aishwarya Gowda’s residence in Kirugavalu in Malavalli taluk, Mandya district, and conducted a search operation. CRPF personnel were deployed for security, and the entire house was searched.

During the raid, the ED found Rs 2.25 crore in cash and some important documents related to money laundering. After the raid, the ED officials arrested Aishwarya Gowda and produced her before the Special Court (PMLA). She was taken into 14-day custody, and the investigation is ongoing.

The ED arrested Aishwarya Gowda for allegedly engaging in money laundering through multiple cases of swindling wealthy individuals in Karnataka by exploiting connections to top political leaders in the state. Last year, the Bengaluru police booked her in several cases of cheating.
