BENGALURU: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), rechristened as the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA), has made it mandatory to submit e-khata for building plan approvals in Bengaluru. The new rule will come into effect on July 1.
Applicants will need to submit e-khata while applying for building plan approvals. The old procedure has been cancelled and the building plan approval process will be integrated with the e-property software.
This move will simplify services and ensure timely approvals. The BBMP has stated that submitting e-khata is compulsory for obtaining building plan approvals. BBMP Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao has said that this rule will be strictly implemented from July 1.
Earlier, the BBMP used to send property documents for verification to the Revenue department. However, for building plans in the BBMP area, approval is already being given online through the EODB-OBPS system.
With the integration of e-khata software, property data will be available online, making it easier to provide services and ensure timely approvals.
The process of submitting property documents to the Revenue department of the city corporation for verification has been cancelled, which will help in simplifying the services provided by the Palike and providing map approval within the time limit.
From July 1, it has been made mandatory to submit an e-khata while applying for all building permits, including maps, online to the corporation seeking building plan approval.
