BENGALURU: The Health Department has sought legal action against tobacco rule violations on e-commerce platforms in Karnataka and has warned against illegal sale of tobacco products without specific health risk messages.
There have been many complaints, including illegal sale of tobacco through e-commerce websites in violation of rules and encouraging minor children to consume tobacco.
Therefore, the Health Department has directed the State Tobacco Control Unit to take immediate legal action against e-commerce platforms and websites promoting or selling such products.
