GADAG: A model of a gurukula, named ‘Parna Kuti’ and built using dry grass and bamboo was completely gutted in an accidental fire on the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj University campus late on Tuesday night.
The Parna Kuti was designed as a model of a gurukula. The entire structure was burnt to ashes, but luckily, there were no casualties.
The Parna Kuti was specially designed for special guests, training programme for students, teachers’ meetings and other educational activities. The University had spent lakhs on its construction, a source said.
The locals were enraged by the fire services delay in arriving at the spot. A case has been registered at the Gadag Rural police station.
