BENGALURU: A drunkard stabbed his mother and snatched her mangalsutra after she declined to give him money for consuming alcohol, in Jnana Bharati police limits. The accused has since been arrested and booked for attempted murder.
The victim Jayalakshmi works as a labourer and her son Mahesh a.k.a Colours would take money from her to consume alcohol. A few days ago, she said she did not have any money to give him and angered by this, Mahesh stabbed his mother and took away her mangalasutra.
Jayalakshmi was shifted to a hospital by locals where she is recovering. The Jnana Bharati police have registered a case and taken up further investigation.
