Drunk men attack Forest dept staff, police personnel; 3 arrested

The history-sheeter attacked the Forest Department staff and police personnel.

RAMANAGARA: Three people, including a history-sheeter, were arrested after they assaulted Forest Department and police personnel and attempted to set fire to a Forest Department vehicle, near Kuruballi Doddi village in Kanakapura taluk on Sunday night. The police are now on the lookout for two more persons in connection with the case.

A group of five, including history-sheeter Kiran, were consuming alcohol in a forest area near Kuruballi Doddi on Sunday night. When the Forest Department staff questioned them, the miscreants assaulted the staff. The latter then called the emergency number 112 and when a police team arrived there, the miscreants attacked the police too.

The drunk men also tried to set fire to a Forest Department vehicle and broke the tablet in the police vehicle. The arrested are Kiran, Guruprasad and Sundar. A case has been registered at the Sathanur police station and a search is on for two others in the case.
