BENGALURU: A man killed his mother and then committed suicide at Surya City area near Halenahalli on the outskirts of Bengaluru. The deceased are Mahalakshmi (41) and her son Ramesh (21).
They hailed from Challakere’s Chikkahalli in Chitradurga district and had moved to Bengaluru a few years ago in search of work. They were working as labourers, but Ramesh had got into the habit of drinking and frequently quarrelled with his mother.
On the night of the incident, Ramesh returned home drunk and got into a fight with his mother. In a fit of rage, he strangled her to death using a mobile phone charging cable. After killing his mother, Ramesh hanged himself.
The police visited the scene, and Bengaluru Rural ASP Nagesh Kumar also inspected the area. The bodies have been shifted to Attibele Oxford Hospital for autopsy and further investigation.
