MADIKERI: A collision between a pickup truck and a Mahindra SUV in 7th Hosakote near Suntikoppa in the Kodagu district, on Saturday night resulting in the driver of the car being seriously injured and trapped between the steering wheel of the car and the seat for over half an hour.
The pickup vehicle was travelling from Suntikoppa to Kushalnagar, while the SUV was coming from Bengaluru to Madikeri. Local residents rushed to the scene and used a rope to pull the car’s front portion using another lorry, rescuing the trapped driver. The injured driver was then taken to the hospital.
A case has been registered at the Suntikoppa police station regarding the incident. Further investigation is under way.
