CHAMARAJANAGAR: The last rites of late thespian actor Dr Rajkumar’s elder sister Nagamma were conducted at the family farmhouse at Dodda Gajanur in Talawadi taluk of Tamil Nadu on Saturday. Nagamma had passed away on Friday and was laid to rest beside her husband Venkategowda’s grave.
The entire Rajkumar family, including Shivarajkumar and Raghavendra Rajkumar were present during the rituals. Nagamma was like a foster mother to Rajkumar’s children, family sources said.
On receiving information about Nagamma’s death, Raghavendra Rajkumar, his wife and sons Vinay Rajkumar and Yuva Rajkumar rushed to Dodda Gajanur. Shivarajkumar and his wife Geetha, who were headed to Goa, reached the village around midnight.
Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar and daughter Vanditha, Dr Rajkumar’s daughters and grandchildren, Parvathamma Rajkumar’s brothers S A Govindaraju and Chenne Gowda, and a host of family members were present. Nagamma had taken deeksha from Raghavendra Swami of Gudde Math and the last rites were performed as per Ediga customs.
