BENGALURU: Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, reacting to BJP MLC CP Yogeshwar’s daughter Nisha expressing her willingness to join the Congress, on Sunday said, “Nisha had met me and my brother D K Suresh. I told her to wait for sometime. I don’t want to be labelled for separating a father and his daughter. Everything will be fine between them in the coming days. I know everything about her, financial situation, her mother and I know about Yogeshwar’s current family situation”.

D K Shivakumar  added, “She still needs to get married, and her father needs to do kanyadana. She is firm, and if she is willing to join the Congress, I will talk to the local leaders of our party”.

“Nisha is a brave woman, she came forward to do something with courage. But I chose not to act right now, because I do not make separate a father and his daughter. If she was married and had her own family, the issue would have been different. Tomorrow, people may have asked me why I did this, so that is why I kept quiet”, he said.
