Gold smuggling accused actress Ranya Rao linked to politicians?

BENGALURU: The case of Sandalwood actress Ranya Rao, accused of smuggling huge quantities of gold, has now has taken another turn. There are suspicions that the actress has strong connections with top politicians in Karnataka.

It’s been unravelled that Ranya Rao has significant ties with state politicians, and her company, Ksiroda India Private Limited, was allotted 12 acres of land from the government through the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) in 2023. Ranya is a director with the company.

Ranya Rao and Rashab are both directors of the company. The land allocation has raised several questions, including how a company owned by an actress received such a large allocation. There are also suspicions that the land was allocated quickly due to Ranya Rao’s connections with influential politicians.

Land was been granted to the steel company in Sira taluk of Tumakuru. The government has given land within 9 months of the company’s establishment. The company was established in April 2022 and an order was issued allotting land in January 2023. This has led to questions being raised if the files were speeded up for Ranya Rao and who are the politician behind her.
