CHIKKODI: A homeopathy doctor was kicked, thrashed and badly beaten up at his hospital over allegations that he had sexually assaulted a minor girl from the Muslim community, in Hukkeri on Thursday night.
A mob, including the family of the girl, laid siege to Suraksha Hospital, smashed glass panes inside and thrashed the doctor Mutturaj Hugar alleging that he had misbehaved with the minor girl in the guise of providing treatment.
The incident came to light after the girl, who went home crying, narrated what had transpired to her parents. The Hukkeri Town police have registered a case under the POCSO Act against the doctor.
