Doctor killed as passenger van crashes into two-wheeler near Aurad village

The doctor was flung several feet away due to the head-on collision.

BIDAR: A doctor died after his motorcycle collided head-on with a Tempo Traveller passenger van near the Mustapur toll plaza in Aurad taluk on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Neelakanth Bhosle (50).

The Tempo Traveller narrowly avoided hitting a car even as Dr Neelakanth was approaching from behind.

Dr Neelakanth was heading to his clinic in Santapur village from Bidar when the passenger van coming from the opposite direction collided with the motorcycle, flinging the doctor for about 15 feet away. The doctor died on the spot.

The doctor and the Tempo Traveller changed lanes, leading to the crash.

Footage from CCTV shows the speeding Tempo Traveller miss almost hitting an oncoming car and the doctor trying to change lanes when the passenger van crashed into his motorcycle. A case has been registered at the Santapur police station and the vehicle has been seized.
