BENGALURU: A woman who was distressed over her husband’s extramarital affair, committed suicide on Saturday and left a death note blaming her husband and the other woman as the reason for her decision to end her life. The incident came to light after the couple of days.
The deceased has been identified as Pavitra, a resident of Hegganahalli. The police found the death note found at her residence during investigation. She ended her life after putting up a video of her death note on her WhatsApp status wherein she demanded that her husband and the other woman should be punished..
Pavithra divorced her first husband and got married to Chetan Gowda. She was working as a manager with a private company where Chetan was working. Recently, the couple argued over Chetan having an illicit relationship with another woman. Pavitra had even told her mother Padmamma about this earlier.
According to police sources, she decided to end her life as she was distressed by her husband’s torture. She put a death note, and a video of their conversation as her WhatsApp status, before ending her life. Her mother came to know about this incident, after seeing the death note on her daughter’s WhatsApp status, but Pavitra had died before she could reach the house.
The death note claimed that Pavitra’s husband Chetan Gowda was allegedly in a relationship with another woman, Puja Gowda.
She was mentioned in the letter, “My husband Chetan Gowda and Puja Gowda are responsible for my death. I got married to Chetan Gowda on May 26, 2019. Later, Chetan Gowda has an illicit relationship with another woman. Ever since their extramarital relationship started, my husband has been torturing me and I have suffered a lot in my life. Those who are responsible for my death must be punished. I want justice. I devoted my life to Chetan Gowda. But he tortured me and caused my death”.
Pavitra has insisted that Puja Gowda and Chetan Gowda must be punished. nA FIR has been registered against Chetan Gowda and Puja Gowda at Kengeri police station under IPC 306 for abetment to suicide.
