MYSURU: Late MP and Congress working president R Dhruvanarayan’s wife Veena, who had not been keeping good health, died at a private hospital in Mysuru on Friday. She had been suffering from cancer and was undergoing treatment.
Less than a month ago, on March 11, Dhruvanarayan had died following a heart attack. He was an aspirant from the Nanjangud Assembly segment and following his death, the Congress announced his son Darshan Dhurvanarayan as its candidate.
Several Congress leaders, including Ballari Rajya Sabha member and party spokesman Syed Naseer Hussain, have condoled the death of Veena. The last rites will be conducted at Heggavadi village in Chamarajanagar district later on Friday.
The couple have two children, Darshan and Dheeran.
