Shashi Shiraguppi, who hails from Dharwad and resides in Shenzen, claims normal life is unaffected in the city.

DHARWAD: Amid the scare over the outbreak of the HMPV virus in China, a man from Dharwad, who is presently living in Shenzen, has claimed that everything is normal and that videos circulating are all “unverified”.

In a self-made video, Shashi Shiraguppi can be seen going around the Shenzen hospital, mall and travelling on a metro train. “If there was a health emergency, my son’s school would have informed us to take precautions, but nothing of that sort has happened. There are no crowds in hospitals, people are going around without wearing masks”, he noted.

Further, he said people are travelling by the metro as usual and that large crowds had gathered at a famous tourist spot to welcome the New Year. He said there are restaurants serving cuisines of different countries and people are moving around without fear. He also said the videos doing the rounds are “unverified” and asked people not to believe them.
