DGP Pronab Mohanty quizzes anonymous complainant at SIT office in Dharmasthala mass burial case

BENGALURU: The SIT, investigating the alleged mass burial of bodies in Dharmasthala’s forests has summoned the complainant for further questioning. The SIT, led by DGP Pronab Mohanty, is conducting the interrogation at the SIT office at the Mallikatte Inspection Bungalow.

The complainant, who was questioned for around eight hours on Saturday, was asked to appear again for further investigation. The SIT is probing the allegations based on an anonymous tip-off and the complainant’s statement.

According to sources, the complainant has reiterated his statement saying that he is willing to show the places where the bodies were buried and that he stands by his earlier statement.

He has also claimed that most of the bodies buried were of women, some of whom were naked, and that he initially thought they were unclaimed bodies, but later started having doubts.

The complainant has expressed his willingness to cooperate with the investigation and has asked the authorities to conduct a thorough probe and bring the perpetrators to justice. The SIT comprises DGP Pronab Mohanty, DIG M N Anucheth and SP Jitendra Dayama.
