RAICHUR: The son of Devadurga MLA Karemma Nayak, Santosh Nayak, is among 14 people who have been booked by the Gabbur police for attacking a toll plaza and destroying property and equipment worth about Rs 19 lakh.

The Karnataka Road Development Corporation Limited (KRDCL) had developed a road in Devadurg taluk and set up two toll plazas at Jalahalli between Tinthini bridge and Devadurga and near Kakaragal on the Devadura-Kalmala road.

While protests have been going on against the collection of toll, the MLA’s son and some of his associates went to one of the toll plazas on motorcycle and car and damaged property and equipment. Based on a complaint from the nodal officer, the Gabbur police have registered a case and taken up further investigation.
