RAMANAGARA: Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, who won the Assembly election with a record margin, on Saturday expressed his gratitude to the party workers and held a public rally to thank the people of Kanakapura.

Deputy CM Shivakumar was showered with flower petals by supporters.

Through the day, he will visit all the hobli centres while also offering prayers at the Kallahalli Venkataramana Swamy temple, the Shivanahalli Veerabhadreshwara temple and the Kabbalamma temple. He will also address a public rally at Sathanur and visit his native village Doddaalahalli. In the evening, a felicitation ceremony will be held at Kanakapura town.

On Friday, Shivakumar and his wife participated in the Kumbhabhisheka ceremony at the newly built Ayyappa Swamy temple in Kanakapura. He also offered prayers and partook in the prasadam.
