Dentist ends life in Bengaluru over harassment, humiliation by doctor

The Sanjaynagar police have taken up investigation into the dentist's suicide.

BENGALURU: A dentist committed suicide, unable to bear harassment from a jilted lover, at Sanjaynagar in Bengaluru. The incident occurred on January 24, but has come to light only now.

Dr Priyankshi Tripathi ended her life unable to bear the harassment.

Dr Priyankshi Tripathi, who hailed from Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, was a dentist at MS Ramaiah Hospital. Dr Sumit, who works in the same hospital, was allegedly forcing her into a relationship and when she refused, he started portraying her in bad light. He started attacking her character saying that she smokes and drinks and hangs out with a lot of people.

It is said that Dr Sumit was harassing her for about a year and Dr Priyankshi had even informed her parents about it. Her parents even came down to Bengaluru and told Sumit not to harass her. They even informed his parents, after which he started harassing her more. He even to assassinate her character in the hospital.

The dentist ended her life at her rented house in RMV Enclave.

Upset over the humiliation caused, Dr Priyankshi had decided to go back to Lucknow, but her parents told her that they would be arriving here in another two days’ time. However, she ended her life at her rented house on 1st Main Road at RMV Enclave (NTI Layout). Based on a complaint from her father, the police have registered a case for abetment of suicide and taken up further investigation.
