BENGALURU: With the monsoon season setting in, dengue cases have been on the rise in the state. About 358 dengue cases were recorded in the month of June alone while more than 77,000 people have been screened and more than 25,000 people’s blood samples have been tested.
There were 9,620 people who suffered from dengue cases in the previous year, and there have been 2,206 cases registered so far this year.
Bengaluru has seen a whopping 732 dengue positive cases so far this year under the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) limits, followed by Mysuru (175), Vijayapura (118), Chitradurga (92), Dharwad (82), Belagavi (78), Shivamogga (73) and Ballari (69).
Meanwhile, chikungunya cases too are rising at an alarming rate and so far, 539 cases have been detected.
