BENGALURU: With cases of dengue rising every day, the state has recorded 20,729 patients since January this year. While 10 people have died, there are 1,753 active case across Karnataka.
In the last 24 hours, 278 fresh cases were recorded of which six are children who are less than one year old. So far, 390 cases of dengue have been detected in infants aged less that a year old.
In the age group of 1-18 year olds, 90 cases were detected in the last 12 hours. So far, 7,350 case have been recorded in this age group. Among those aged above 18, 182 case were detected and so far, the total number of dengue cases stands at 12,989.
In Bengaluru, the dengue case count is nearing the 10,000 mark with 857 cases recorded so far in August. While three people have died in the city, the total number of cases stands at 9,395. Bengaluru has contributed about half of the state’s dengue case count as every day, nearly 100 cases are being reported.
In the last eight days, Mahadevapura zone has recorded 201 cases and South zone, 172 cases. On August 1, there were 156 cases; August 2, 123 cases; August 3, 67 cases; August 4, 30 cases; August 5, 126 cases; August 6, 104 cases, August 7, 117 cases and August 8, 134 cases.
