BENGALURU: Passengers on a SpiceJet flight from Delhi to Bengaluru had a harrowing experience after it was delayed by over 12 hours without any explanation given to them. They were also not served food and had to forego their sleep, many complained.

The SpiceJet flight SG8151 was scheduled to take off from Terminal-3 of the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in New Delhi at 9.45 pm on Friday and arrive in Bengaluru at 12.35 am on Saturday.

But the flight did not take off as, apparently, no pilot was available. The passengers were kept waiting inside the aircraft and in the aerobridge with no information. There were over 100 passengers on the aircraft.

The angry passengers started protesting inside the aircraft, but the airline staff could not provide satisfactory answers for the delay. Finally, the flight took off on Saturday morning and arrived in Bengaluru at 9.10 am.

After their arrival in Bengaluru, some of the passengers said, “They did not even allow us outside the aircraft. Finally, they promised us vouchers of Rs 5,000 each. The airline staff did not even give us any refreshments”. They also raised slogans, “Boycott SpiceJet, Shame shame, Spicejet”.
