BENGALURU: After a birthday bash of history-sheeter Gubbachchi Seena was organised inside the Parappana Agrahara central jail, Additional Director General of Prisons B Dayananda has taken serious note of the incident and has ordered a DCP-level investigation.
Following the birthday celebration in jail, the ADGP has ordered an internal inquiry. Some inmates are getting exclusive hospitality right under the noses of the prison staff. None of this would have been possible without the involvement of the prison authorities, it is being said.
The prison officials are now investigating the matter, and the Electronics City DCP Narayan has been roped in to probe the incident.
Dayananda has reportedly decided to put an end to the VIP culture in prisons and has instructed that all visitors, including influential people, must follow the rules and wait for their turn to visit inmates.
The prison authorities have also been instructed strictly to put a stop to the practice of bringing in luxury items such as TVs, refrigerators and non-vegetarian food into the prison.
