Days before wedding, KSISF constable murdered while returning after distributing invitations

Harish was killed when he was returning home after distributing wedding invitations in Hassan.

HASSAN: A constable with the Karnataka State Industrial Security Force (KSISF), who was to get married on November 11, was hacked to death near Dudda in Hassan taluk on Monday night when he was returning home after distributing wedding invitations. The deceased Harish B V hailed from Bageshpura village and was posted in Bengaluru.

Harish had returned to his native village on November 3 and the next day, he had gone to Hassan to distribute wedding invitations on his motorcycle (KA 13 EW 727). He was returning home on Monday night when he was attacked near the railway bridge at Dhaba Circle on the outskirts of Dudda. The assailants first threw chilli powder at Harish and then attacked him with sharp weapons.

Police Superintendent Mohammed Sujeetha said, “The attack occurred some time between 9.30 pm and 10.30 pm on Monday as per the complaint lodged by Harish’s younger brother Manjunath. The deceased. His wedding was to take place on November 11 and he was killed when he was returning home after distributing wedding invitations. Harish had sustained three injuries in the head. The murder may be due to personal reasons as per initial investigations. The retired armyman is missing and we are on the lookout for him”.

Police suspect that an illicit relationship may have been the cause for the murder. Harish’s sister Pushpa lives in B Katihalli and her neighbour is a retired defence personnel, also by the name of Harish, hailing from Hampanahalli village. It is suspected that Harish had an illicit relationship with the retired army man’s wife.

It is said that the two had often quarrelled over the issue and it is suspected that Hampanahalli Harish and his associates may have killed the KSISF constable. Further investigation is under way.
