Data theft: Senior CEC official chairs meeting on voter roll revision in B’luru

BENGALURU: The Central Election Commission’s (CEC) Deputy Election Commissioner Ajay Bhadhoo on Thursday chaired a meeting at the State Election Commission office in the light of the alleged voter data theft involving Chilume Trust.

Deputy Election Commissioner Ajay Bhadhoo chaired a meeting with senior officers.

A team of central officials also visited the offices of returning officers of allthe 28 Assembly constituencies in Benglauru. They also went through documents related to addition and deletion of voter names right from January 13, 2022 up to November 9, 2022, since this time, the highest number of additions and deletion of voter names has happened in the Bengaluru constituencies. They also discussed issues like the role of returning officers, any new directives issued to them, etc.

Several senior officers took part in the meeting.

The BBMP special commissioner (election) had directed all the officials concerned to come prepared with all relevant documents.

Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Manoj Kumar Meena, BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath, Special Commissioner Rangappa, Joint Commissioner (South) Jagadish were among the senior officers present at the meeting.
