MYSURU: With about a week to go for the Dasara festivities to begin, the golden throne was assembled at the Mysuru palace on Tuesday for the private durbar. Due to this, entry for visitors had been restricted for half a day.

The golden throne was brought out from the strongroom in the presence of the matriarch of the royal family, Pramoda Devi Wadiyar and later assembled in the durbar hall. For security reasons, screens had been put up at the durbar hall and CCTV cameras installed.

Meanwhile, training of the Dasara elephants continue for the grand procession on Vijayadashami day. The elephants were acclimatised to cannon ball firing while the lead elephant Abhhimanyu, who will carry the golden howdah is practicing with a wooden howdah.
