BENGALURU: The Supreme Court hearing on actor Darshan’s plea in the Renukaswamy murder case has been adjourned to Thursday due to the absence of senior advocate Kapil Sibal, who was supposed to argue the case today.
The court directed Darshan’s lawyers to prepare documents in written form, instructing them to present 75 per cent of their arguments in writing. Darshan’s lawyer, Siddharth Dave, appeared in court and requested time to study the case, citing Kapil Sibal’s absence.
The Supreme Court had previously expressed objections to the High Court’s decision to grant bail to Darshan and others accused in the case. There was talk that the verdict could be delivered today. However, the hearing was adjourned as Darshan’s lawyers sought time to present their arguments.
During the last hearing, the Supreme Court had expressed dissatisfaction with the High Court verdict. “We have examined the documents submitted by the state government”, the said and Justice Pardiwala had opined that the High Court had not used its discretion properly while granting bail.
The shooting of ‘Devil’ film song,’starring Darshan has been going on in Thailand for four days, and it is expected to be completed soon. Darshan has gone to Thailand with his family, will stay there for four to five days after the shooting ends, and will return to India after July 25.
Meanwhile, Darshan is currently in Thailand for the shooting of his upcoming film “Devil.” He plans to return to India on July 25.
