Judicial custody of Darshan, others extended till Sept 12, plea for home food to be heard on Sept 11

BENGALURU: A Bengaluru court has extended the judicial custody of actor Darshan and others accused in the Renukaswamy murder case until September 12.

All 17 accused, including Darshan, appeared today before the court through video conferencing from Ballari jail at 1:15 pm. The court also ordered the accused to appear before the court through video conferencing on September 12.

Special Public Prosecutor Prasanna Kumar submitted the hard disk and pen drive related to the case to the court. He also informed the court that the digital evidence would be submitted within two weeks.

During the hearing, the Special Public Prosecutor requested the court send the chargesheet to the jail, but the defence lawyers objected to it.

The judge asked the accused about their lawyers, and Darshan replied that C V Nagesh was representing him. The other accused also mentioned the names of their lawyers. After hearing the arguments, the court extended the judicial custody of the accused for another three days.

Darshan also appealed to the high court for home food. The High Court adjourned the hearing of the application to September 11.
