Darshan allowed 40-minute walks twice a day in corridor of jail barracks

BENGALURU: Days after actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, who has been arrested in the Renukaswamy murder case, pleaded before a city court that he had not seen sunlight and that he was contracting fungal infection in jail, he has been allowed 40 minutes time to take walks.

As per the court directives, Darshan will be allowed 40-minute walks in the morning and evening in the corridors of the barrack where he is lodged. However, no other convict or undertrial will be allowed to used the corridor during that time, and they can use the corridor at other times.

The jail authorities have also made arrangements for CCTV recording of all activities near Darshan’s cell, including his daily walks. All the 15 jail staff deployed in the barracks will have to compulsorily have bodyworn cameras while carrying out their tasks, as per the officials.
