BENGALURU: There is a growing suspicion that the state government is mismanaging funds allocated for the development of the Dalit community for the guarantees. In the last year, the government released only 25 per cent of the allocated funds to six corporations and two commissions. The allocated amount was Rs 332 crore, but only Rs 88.78 crore was released.
The government failed to release the complete allocated amount for the financial year 2024-25. Due to lack of funds, the financial performance of the corporations and commissions is only 25.68 per cent. Many Scheduled Castes are being deprived of the benefits of Ganga Kalyan, Airavata Vahana, land ownership, scholarship money for students, higher studies abroad, Prerana and small loans, and financial assistance for self-employment schemes.
The corporations and commissions that were allocated funds include Dr Ambedkar Development Corporation, Tanda Development Corporation, Karnataka Leather Industries Development Corporation, Rajya Safai Karmachari Ayoga, and others.
