BENGALURU: Some unidentified persons, armed with machetes, barged on to the sets of the movie ‘Koragajja’ directed by Sudhir Attar, on Friday when the shooting was on.

Actor Shubha Punja and Bollywood’s famous dance choreographer Ganesh Acharya were part of the shoot. The movie crew was shooting a song sequence at Kalasa near Kudremukh. While Shubha Poonja appears in the song, Ganesh Acharya has choreographed the dance.

At this time, suddenly, a group rushed to the site of the shooting holding sharp weapons and tried to prevent the shoot. Not wanting any trouble, the movie crew suspended shooting and left the place. The production of the movie has been facing impediments right from the start.

The film’s producer Trivikram Belthangady, speaking to Public TV about the incident, said the reason for such repeated incidents may be because some vested interests do not want the movie ‘Koragajja’ to be made. “They come to the movie sets claiming to be divine dancers (daiava narthakas) and start creating a ruckus at the shooting site. This has happened earlier too. The film team did not face any problems, but the set was damaged. What do they mean that a movie should not be made in the name of Koragajja”?

The film team has faced such problems not only in Kalasa, but at other places earlier too. The shooting has continued despite repeated disruptions. After many years, Sudhir is back directing a movie in Kannada. The movie has a talented star cast including Kabir Bedi, Shruti, Bhavya and others.
