Dairy firm employees get senior thrashed over work pressure

BENGALURU: Two employees of a dairy products company, gave supari (contract) to thrash their senior over alleged work pressure. The Hennur police arrested the two accused based on a viral video of the incident that took place on Lumbini Garden Main Road in the city at 6.18 pm on March 31.

The accused, Umashankar and Vinesh, got Suresh, an auditor with Heritage Foods, assaulted. All three are employees of the same company. The issue came to light during police investigation.

Suresh joined the company as an auditor one year ago. According to the the accused, Suresh allegedly would exert pressure on them to clear the transactions on a daily basis which earlier would take many days. Suresh brought it to the notice of the company’s seniors and took strict action on their instructions. As the accused felt work pressure, they decided to give supari and get his thrashed to teach him a lesson.

Umashankar gave supari to Heritage ex-employee Sandeep and his friends from KR Puram to assault Suresh. Sandeep and his friends attacked Suresh with a iron rod while he was walking on the road and coolly walked away from the scene.

The act of Sandeep and his accomplice was captured on a dashboard camera of a car and the Hennur police arrested the accused after the video went viral on social media. An X user had posted the video on X and tagged the city police asking them to take immediate action. Police arrested the accused after they got information about the video.
