BENGALURU: Following the explosive press conference by BJP MLA Ramesh Jarkhiholi on Tuesday, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president D K Shivakumar seems to be looking to put a lid on the alleged sex CD scandal and its investigation.

It is believed that Shivakumar reached out to party MLA and Ramesh’s brother Satish Jarkiholi, but the latter has maintained his distance stating that the duel between Shivakumar and Ramesh is a personal issue.

When some Congress leaders pointed out to him that it is a question of the party’s image, Satish is believed to have said that his commitment is only towards the party and not any individual. He even questioned how the tussle between two individuals is related to the party, and has chosen to maintain his distance.

Reacting to Ramesh Jarkiholi’s allegations, D K Shivakumar said, “He might be mentally upset because he resigned as a minister and did not get the job back He also lied that I wanted to compromise with him on the SC issue, but such blood does not run in my veins. I sympathise with him over his health condition”.

“The alleged audio mentions so many places, Let me know the address and please take me there”, Shivakumar taunted Ramesh Jarkiholi, while also wishing him well.

One-and-half years after the alleged sex CD scandal broke out, BJP MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi spoke to media in Belagavi on Tuesday. He urged the government to hand over the sex CD scandal to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) claiming that he had proof about those involved and alleged that Shivakumar was behind it.

Ramesh and his brother, MLC Lakhan Jarkiholi, are demanding the government to hand over the case to CBI claiming that they have 126 witnesses, but another of the brothers is against such a move. Despite all this, Ramesh Jarkiholi has been meeting Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai to press for a CBI investigation, but the CM has been playing it safe and plans to proceed only on the directions of the central leadership in the matter.
