BENGALURU: City Police Commissioner C H Pratap Reddy on Monday said that the accused in the case related to the threat letters received at actor Kiccha Sudeep’s house will be arrested soon.

Following speculation that the Cottonpet police were investigating the case, the police commissioner clarified that the Central Crime Branch (CCB) police are conducting the investigation and had only sought the assistance of the Cottonpet police.

“In some cases, we take the assistance of the police from other jurisdictions. Cyber crime experts are working on the case and they have taken the assistance of the Cottonpet police to analyse call detail records (CDR) and tower dump data”, he clarified.

Referring to the fake FIR filed by the Pulakeshi Nagar police in a rice pulling case and taking bribes, he said the sub-inspector and some of the personnel have already been suspended and further action will be taken after the inquiry report is received. Officials are also being warned to prevent recurrence of such incidents, he added.

On the kidnap of a man by the Marathalli police, the police commissioner said the Bagalur police are investigating the case and raid have already been conducted on the houses of sub-inspector Rangesh and the staff involved. The houses of some of the PSI’s relatives too have been searched and those who were in touch with Rangesh are also being being questioned, he added.
