BENGALURU: The Customs officials at the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) have seized 2 kg of gold worth Rs 1.26 crore in two separate cases.
The gold chans were found in the collars during checks on three passengers who arrived from Bangkok on Thursday night and in the inner wear of two women who arrived from Colombo. In all, 966 gm of gold worth Rs 58,39,806 was seized from them.
On Friday, the Customs officials intercepted a passengers arriving from Muscat, who was smuggling gold biscuit weighing 1.113 kg in the waist belt. The value of the seized gold is estimated at Rs 68,18,812. Cases have been registered against all the accused and further investigation is under way.
