HASSAN: The annual Darshanotsava of Hassan’s presiding Goddess Hassanamba, has come to a close. The temple’s sanctum sanctorum closed for a year after noon on Sunday following rituals.
On Saturday, a large number of devotees and dignitaries visited the temple for darshan of the goddess. The temple premises was filled with devotees on weekends.
This year’s festival has set new records. Over 18 lakh devotees have visited the temple so far. The temple has earned over Rs 8 crore from special darshan tickets (Rs 1,000 & Rs 800), laddu sales, and Devi saree sales.
The rathotsava and Kondotsava of Siddeshwara Swamy took place on Saturday night. Devotees were allowed to visit the temple till morning.
The curtain was drawn for the public darshan at 6 am. The temple’s sanctum sanctorum closed after the Vishwarupa darshan at 12 pm on Sunday.
District minister K N Rajanna, MLA H P Swarup Prakash, deputy commissioner C Sathyabhama, and other dignitaries attended the closing ceremony.
This year’s Hassanamba jatra mahotsava, which began on October 24, has been a grand success, with lakhs of devotees from across the state and neighbouring regions visiting the temple.
Hassanambe Darshan Festival is scheduled from 9th to 23rd, next year 2025 .
