Crocodile found on highway with snout bound by rope in Vijayapura district

The crocodile was found with its snout bound in rope on the highway.

VIJAYAPURA: A crocodile was found, with its snout bound by a rope, near the bridge across the Krishna river on National Highway 218 near Kolhar in the district on Saturday.

The police informed the Forest Department.

It is suspected that the crocodile may have entered some human habitation where it may have been trapped and its snout tied up. The crocodile may have managed to escape and entered the river. With its snout tied up,the crocodile hasn’t been able to feed and may have come up on land, it is said.

The crocodile was moved to the roadside.

The Kolhar police visited the spot and moved the crocodile to the side of the road. The Forest Department was informed and efforts were on to free the crocodile and release it back into the river.
