CHIKKABALLAPUR: A couple died on the spot after their motorcycle collided with a private bus near Kagati village in Chikkaballapur taluk on Monday. The deceased were identified as Chandrappa (50) and Babyamma (43) of Channahalli in Sidlaghatta taluk.
The couple was on their way to their daughter’s house at Bidanahalli in Chintamani taluk when the accident occurred. The bodies were shifted to the Chintamani government hospital for post-mortem examination.
In another incident, a container truck carrying cargo from Ludhiana in Punjab to Bengaluru caught fire near the Agalgurki bypass road in Chikkaballapur on Sunday night. Most of the cargo from Blue Dart was burnt in the fire.
The fire first broke out in the engine compartment and spread quickly. Luckily, the driver and his assistant escaped unscathed. The Fire and Emergency Services personnel put out the fire.
