MYSURU: A couple and their daughter committed suicide by jumping into a lake after the older daughter eloped with her boyfriend at Budanur village in HD Kote taluk on Saturday.
Mahadevaswamy, his wife Manjula and daughter Harshita were reported missing from their house and Mahadevaswamy’s motorcycle and the footwear of the three were found near the Budanur lake. Villagers suspect that the family may have entered into a suicide pact after the older daughter Arpita eloped.
Fire and Emergency Services Personnel launched a search in the late and fished out all the three bodies. The three had tied themselves together before ending their lives. A case has been registered at the HD Kote police station.
