Cooperatives dept orders probe into corruption in Kolar milk union

KOLAR: The principal secretary to the cooperatives department has ordered a probe by the registrar into allegations of corruption in the Kolar Milk Union (Komul). This follows a letter by senior Congress MLA S N Narayanaswamy who had demanded an investigation into the charges.

It is alleged that there was corruption in milk union during 2023-24 and 2024-25 in award of contract to MVK Golden Dairy, tenders for solar pumps and also in appointments. Narayanaswamy had written to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Cooperatives Minister Shivanand Patil regarding these allegations.

The corruption is said to have taken place when Malur Congress MLA K Y Nanjegowda was the president of the Komul management committee. The order for investigation was issued by Cooperatives department Under Secretary Ranganath G.
