BENGALURU: The government had announced that it would grant ‘A’ khata certification to ‘B’ khata holders. However, the order has not been implemented yet and there are concerns that the certification process might be delayed further.

The BBMP is developing a new software to facilitate the ‘A’ khata certification process. Once the software is ready, ‘B’ khata holders will be granted ‘A’ khata certification.

According to M Maheshwar Rao, Chief Commissioner of BBMP, the civic body is preparing new software to give A khata certification to B khata holders. “The A khatas will be distributed only after the new software is ready. There will be a system where the account holder will apply and pay. The new software and guidelines will streamline the certification process. A team is working on the SOP guidelines. Once it is over, we will issue it”, he said.

The new software will enable account holders to apply and make payments online and will also require them to provide site and building information. The software is being developed with several features and it is expected that ‘A’ khata certification will be granted next month once the software is ready.

Along with the new software, some guidelines will also be introduced for obtaining ‘A’ khata certification, Maheshwar Rao said.
