BENGALURU:  Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Chief Commissioner Tushar Giri Nath has instructed the contractor to complete the Ejipura flyover work within the stipulated time frame.

Tushar Giri Nath conducted an inspection of the Ejipura flyover work with BBMP’s project division chief engineer on Friday night and sought a report on the progress of the remaining work.

The contractor, M/s BSCPL Infrastructure Ltd., was given the work order in November 2023. Currently, 27 piling works, three pre-cast segment constructions, nine pre-cast segment launchings and ramp constructions are in progress. The road under the flyover, pedestrian path and stormwater drain constructions are in progress. However, the work is progressing at a slow pace, and a fine of Rs 25 lakh has been imposed on the contractor.

The work is being carried out after taking over the land belonging to the Defence department. A meeting was held with St John’s organisation to hand over the land required for the project. The contractor has been paid the advance amount as per the agreement, and the pending bill has also been paid, according to the information provided by the department concerned.
