BENGALURU: After the BJP government in the state announced a hike in reservation for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities, the Opposition Congress, which fears losing votes, is planning to highlight why the increased reservation may not work out.
The party, which is planning a huge convention of SCs and ST at Kalaburagi, hopes to woo the two communities by getting party president Mallikarjun Kharge, a SC leader himself, to impress upon them that the rise in reservation will not be possible to implement.
The party will then launch a campaign to highlight that the BJP government’s move is untenable and look to dent any chance of the ruling party cornering votes from the two communities, it is being said.
